Synopsis
A story following Eyrin Kal's encounter with an alien crash-landed from space. Perhaps it could be called a romance, if such a concept existed for the alien, and if Eyrin cared to label it.
About
First Step is a story I first conceived in July 2020. It is a story about a relationship undefined by the norms of human society - it is an intersection between a human with a very open heart (plus no self-preservation) and an alien with very different concepts of relationships and with no concept of gender.

An individual living in a spacious but fairly isolated residence. He occupies much of his time with requests to repair and improve various devices, some paid, some not. He also "consults" for Anima Bionics, though he doesn't consider himself to truly be part of the company.
Other time may be spent in casual creative pursuits, often drawing on his tablet. For the most part, he lives in solitude - away from judgement and prying eyes.

An employee of the Department of Homeland Security in the United States. He is also the brother of Silas Yang and a cousin to Eyrin, but Eyrin has not seen him in years.
